Why It Matters

Disasters are unpredictable. At any given moment, you or a loved one may be in serious need of help, with first responders still far from the scene. Whether a disaster strikes across an entire city or simply across your family room, being prepared can be the difference between life and death. Through the Ready, Set, Respond workshop, we hope to grow the number of everyday citizens who are disaster prepared and, as a result, create a safer, stronger community.

Together, we’ve created these goals to guide our efforts in disaster preparedness.

Increase Disaster Preparedness & Response Awareness

Multiply the number of community members who know what to do during a disaster, and educate our community about the importance of being prepared.

Support First Responders

Increase the capacity of first-responder organizations throughout Northern California, Nevada and Utah.

Empower Everyday Citizens

Grow the number of citizens who are disaster ready in the communities we serve.

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross is dedicated to engaging, educating and empowering people in the communities we serve to be ready for any disaster, large or small.

Our Partnership

We're proud to be working hand in hand with American Red Cross chapters in Northern California, Nevada and Utah. Through this partnership, we’ll provide relief to those affected by disasters, as well as empower individuals in our community to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

Ready, Set,

To make that first step easy and fun, we worked with the Red Cross to design the Ready, Set, Respond workshop. This workshop is free and includes compelling lessons and interactive exercises that prepare participants to respond during a major disaster. In addition, participants will have the opportunity for further trainings with the Red Cross.
